Biennalist // definition

Biennalist is the name of   the art format  that will be launched at the Venice Biennale 2007
Biennalist-Venice  will be used as an experimental plattform to develop further the format for other biennales or festivals ( not only art biennales but also art fairs ,f ilm festivals   etc ....)

Biennalist is a reflection about the over presence of culture management in any art events  and powercultural structures having almost  military
models of management

Biennalist is an artisitic response and interpretation to the overall phenomen of Biennale


The biennalists is also  the name of the  team of people working for Colonel at the Biennale  and wearing biennalists uniforms
taking position all over the biennale and in the town that the biennale  itself invade .
 
The biennalists  are  normaly able to take any biennale following some biennalistic strategy and invading models .

for the operation Venice Biennale the thema will be  : Nation Nationality and Nationalism ano 2007 

The common dialogue by the Biennalistes repeatedly mention nations when they meet one
another and hereby they brand the countries and contribute to a competitive classification to a
hierarchy of influence. Strangely, stories circulating in Venice around the biennial have countries as
main character, like the names of countries were heroes per se. Nations become the centre of
truth, but also enter the zone of fiction and hype. Instead of referring to titles of art works and
names of artists, it seems natural to simply mention nations.

  The biennalists camp  :
 
Some of the  Biennalist will be  sleeping at the CAMP  coming from previous project including Emergency Room PS1 / MOMA New York
Emergency Room / Berlin  and Roskilde festival . The Camp will be  design by an architect and will be also a important part of the project
gathering different Nations together ( Danish / Belgium / USA / French / Italian/ German  ... )

Biennalist //Motivations:

This project will make the biennial itself a subject and create a biennial fiction story
based on real material. This will happen through the actions of observe and create, in relation to
the Colonel Moving Exhibition manifest from 1989. This project also works on the concept of ultra
fast reality mixed with fiction. All story will be connected with  a chronology
As a result, this project will develop the concept of the novella (music
jingle) in public space. Finally, it will address the notion of fluidity and distribution and create an
event as well as change some way of percieving  Biennales .

 
Biennalist Context: The Venice Biennial is the World Cup of football for the art world – or the Olympics,
enhancing all disciplines. The Venice Biennial is a competitive and international event. 70 countries
will present 30 exhibitions in the pavilions in the Giardini della Biennale and 40 in many other venues
in Venice, to involve the entire city. There are almost 1 million visitors in 150 days of exhibitions, and
