Thierry Geoffroy creates Critical Art Formats for stimulating collectif debates about emergencies .

Biennalist has been activated since 1988 .

Some Critical Art Formats are allready very established to have been performed in more than 20 countries
Some new format will be tested
Art Formats especially designed for " Biennales with political intentions ".

Also we will have the "Biennalist Training Camp " at the Lido

whith every day different burning themas to run and debate about .

for example :

1 of of the run will be done in collaborations with the arab communauty : "out of pavillon and out of governement "
1 with the Emergency Room communauty .
1 with the art critics association
1 with expert in art photography

We will always debate the actual situation

CRITICAL RUN is a format where the participants produce an effort
as they run debate at the same time.
It is a sweaty format .
the Critical Run will be visible all around Venice
meanwhile most will have confortable lunch time
you will see the Critical Runneur having mobile energic debate .

The Critical Run will be an enormous fast moving conference

shouting

The most famous format in different national pavilions that will be activated at the Venice Biennale is the

PENETRATION FORMAT

A Penetration is an artist's act of placing an artwork within another artist's already existing exhibition. It is a generous act
other format that will activated by Biennalist at the Venice Biennale .

the Biennale curator Bice Curigier is experimenting this year a very similar format . It is called Para Pavilion .

Biennalist is an art format commenting on Biennales and other cultural managed events while they happen .
Often those events promote them selves with thematics .
Biennalist take those thematics very seriously , and test them on location .
at the Venice Biennale Biennalist will converge with Emergency Room artists providing a burning content that cannot wait
today is today, today before it is too late

Developping new forms of interacting with the Biennale in real time
and commenting it
testing it .
Very often Biennalist converge with other formats like Emergency Room
working on an ultracontemporary ramp .
Challenging the Biennale with it, s " stage " thematic and distorded press release .

The Venice Biennale is very interesting
as it gather the presence of 40 000 intellectuals at the same location
at the same time
and could offer great potential
to debate together about the burning topics
that need to be debated now

BIENNALIST, THE ACADEMY OF EMERGENCY ART, and PHOTOGRAPHY CALLING!
are setting up an action camp to express about Emergencies NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE .

Together we will daily activate Emergency art, Critical Run, Penetrations, Slow Dance Debate, Art Flash Mobs, Photography Calling!, Rumor Art, Debate Raves, Quadridimensional Journalism.

Through these different formats we will question WHAT ARE THE EMERGENCIES TODAY?

WHAT MAKES US APATHETIC?

WHY ARE BIENNALES LYING TO US AND HOW?

ARE BIENNALES DANGEROUS?

CAN ART BE IN ADVANCE OF THE BROKEN ARM?

IS THE THEME OF THE VENICE BIENNALE PERTINENT?

CAN FREEDOM OF SPEECH BE CURATED?

CAN CRITIC BE SPONSORED?

and other questions that we will be burning to express about, simply not possible to ignore at this specific moment.

To join these 6 days of intensive education (May 30 – June 4, 2011) you will have to apply to 1@colonel.dk or negotiate with us on the spot.

Participants will get a Biennalist diploma if they accomplish the missions and training successfully.

The camp is an Art format by format artist Thierry Geoffroy/Colonel more known for his Emergency Room format and Critical Run format as well as for his Academy of Emergency Art.

Melina Peña and Copyflex will also be active artists in the format as well as some of the artists from the Emergency Room segment coming to the camp.

In Venice we are working with the support from the Sprengel Museum / Hannover : "Photography Calling"

PHOTOGRAPHY CALLING! is an upcoming exhibition of the Sprengel Museum Hannover in cooperation with the Lower Saxony Savings Bank Foundation. PHOTOGRAPHY CALLING! supports the Biennalist edition at the Venice Biennale 2011 as well as the Thierry Geoffroy/Colonel project space “PHOTOGRAPHY CALLING/ EXTRACTEUR" in the exhibition.
